Designed for non-technical professionals in Canada’s business and innovation sectors, including leaders in HR, sales, operations and public affairs, this new six-week executive development program empowers you to evaluate AI's benefits and risks. Learn the essential questions non-technical professionals should ask about the AI-driven transformation reshaping every business unit and sector.

Wednesday’s at 3:30 - 5:00 pm EST

Who should apply?

Early- and mid-career professionals and leaders across Canada’s technology and business community, including those in the public and non-profit sectors. This is a non-technical program, and learners are not expected to come from a technical background to excel in this program. Ideal applicants include:

  • HR, Operations, Sales and Public Affairs Professionals in non-technical roles

  • Technologists in infosec, privacy, integrity and other tech-adjacent roles

  • Professionals who intersect with governments and regulators

How much is the program?

Before September 27, the early bird rate for the program is $900+ HST.

The regular price for the program is $1300+ HST.

COURSE OUTLINE

Week 1: Understanding AI Landscape & Strategic Imperative

The first week will define fundamental AI terms and applications, identify common AI technologies and their use cases, and provide a high-level overview of governance, ethical, and legal considerations.

Week 2: Introduction to AI Governance

This week covers defining AI and governance for public and private sector actors, understanding its importance for innovation leaders, and providing an overview of existing regulatory frameworks and guidelines for AI.

Week 3: Societal Impact and Stakeholder Engagement

This week examines the role of governments, industry, academia, and civil society in AI governance, strategies for effective stakeholder engagement and collaboration, and the importance of interdisciplinary approaches to AI governance.

Week 4: Ethical & Responsible AI Considerations

This week highlights key ethical AI principles and their application, explores data integrity issues and risk identification, introduces responsible AI development frameworks, and discusses the balance between ethics and innovation.

Week 5: Legal and Compliance Frameworks

This week offers a deep dive into the legal implications of AI technologies, including the impacts of data, privacy, security, and intellectual property frameworks, with case studies highlighting legal challenges and best practices.

Week 6: Emerging Regulatory Trends and Future Outlook

The final week explores evolving global regulatory trends in AI governance, anticipates future regulatory challenges and opportunities, and develops a proactive approach to compliance and risk management.
